My Mission

“One’s life has value so long as one attributes value to the life of others.

~ Simone de Beauvoir

I’m on a mission to amplify new voices and make the world a better place – wherever I am and whenever and however I can.

This means doing hard work when it needs to be done, acting with integrity and compassion, and building people up from their strengths.

“A just society is a society that if you knew everything about it, you’d be willing to enter it in a random place.

~ John Rawls

My Vision & Values

I envision a world that is, above all else, a just place where everyone can thrive.

I picture this as a world that is cared for by everyone and where everyone cares about leaving the world better than how they found it. For my part in achieving this vision I hold myself accountable for:

  • actively communicating with the intent to be understood by others rather than an expectation that I will be understood
  • actively listening with the intent to understand others rather than the expectation that I will understand
  • maintaining an education and learning mindset
  • advocating on issues that are important to me
  • loudly protesting injustices in all its forms while actively seeking out solutions
  • loudly promoting social justice and supporting public policies that focus on building freedom, diversity, equity, and inclusion for marginalized groups and communities>
  • treating others with kindness, care, and fairness
  • reducing my carbon footprint and taking care of the environment around me
  • supporting institutions and organizations that align with my mission and vision
  • providing everyone I encounter with compassion and empathy
  • supplying others with resources (as I am able) that will help them in their own pursuit of being the best version of themselves that they can be
  • being a safe person for every single human that I encounter, even those that I dislike or disagree with

“A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.

~ William Shakespeare
